Tetley Tea

The Tetley tea business was founded by two brothers, Joseph & Edward Tetley. They were the sons of Samuel and Martha Tetley, and were born in Bradford in 1811 and 1815 respectively.

The brothers founded 'Tetley Brothers' in 1837 and after operating in the Bradford and Huddersfield areas, moved to London in 1856.

Joseph died in 1899.

There are no known male Tetley descendants, but the Tetley-Jones family are descended through a female line.
